2026 TorresVault vegetable garden in Sanford, NC (Zone 7b/8a).

These plants help with **pest control**, **pollination**, and **attracting beneficial insects**  
such as ladybugs, hoverflies, parasitic wasps, lacewings, and pollinators.

These are the main flowers planted around the TorresVault garden each year,  
especially because **my wife loves flowers**, and they naturally support pest control.

=== 🌺 Zinnias ===
One of the most effective flowers for boosting beneficial insects.

**Benefits**
  * Attracts ladybugs (major aphid control)
  * Attracts hoverflies (top aphid predator)
  * Attracts butterflies and bees
  * Blooms all season in NC heat

**Best Placement**
  * Front corners of both tomato beds  
  * Front edge of pepper bed  
  * Along the bean fence line  
  * At the ends of the cucumber trellis

Long-lasting blooms that support pollinators and predatory wasps.

**Benefits**
  * Attracts bees and pollinators
  * Attracts parasitic wasps (controls hornworms & caterpillars)
  * Works well at garden edges

**Best Placement**
  * Along one long edge of the onion bed  
  * Back corners of pepper bed  
  * Near cucumbers without shading

The garden layout and flower placement naturally attract:
